There is nothing I dislike more than approaching the weekend with zero plans (or at least knowing my options if I am ambitious enough to remove myself from the couch and turn off hulu). My irritation levels also rise when people whine and complain they’re bored. From the young to the old, those who are new to the city to the lifers, those with a high cash flow to those who scrounge for quarters, there is SO much to do in Milwaukee (yes, even in the winter). Here are some happenings this weekend:
Friday, November 9
>>$5 Make you Holla – and sweat, and stretch, and removes toxins, and overall do wonders for your body. Power Yoga on Oakland offers $5 drop-in classes every Friday at 5:30. Check out their schedule and sign up here.
>>New restaurant alert: Have you checked out Wolf Peach yet? With interesting menu items including: bone marrow, sea salt, & parsley and smoked kielbasa, along with more traditional restaurant fare such as wood fire pizza and cheese platters that look to die for, you’d be a fool not to wanna see what’s up.
Saturday, November 10
>>Shout out to my MN roots, Duluth natives, Trampled by Turtles is playing at the Pabst. Great, live music for $20? Fantastico!
>>Wine and Dine your way through endless samples of wine, beer, cheese, and participate in the Chili cookoff at the Wine & Dine Wisconsin 2012! Saturday and Sunday at the Delta Center.
>>BAAM at Turner Hall Ballroom. $15 ($5 if you just wanna watch the flick) gets you all you can drink and unlimited movie snacks for the first Beer and a Movie (BAAM) of the season. Tonight’s showing: Color Me Obsessed: view the trailer.
Sunday, November 11
>>Make a wish, it’s 11/11!
>>Only in Wisconsin: Even though the Packers have a bye week, get your green and gold fix by lambeau leaping onto the Cheesehead Bed brought to you by Verlo Mattress Company. From 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. meet the inventor of the Lambeau Leap, LeRoy Bulter: he’ll be at the 6501 W Layton Blvd. location along with the cheese mattress!
>>Milwaukee’s Biggest Bloody Mary Party at the Great Lakes Distillery. From 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., witness the building and drinking of a 100 gallon bloody mary with proceeds going to The Hunger Task Force. Bring some canned goods for chances to win prizes and karma points!
