I recently got four bowls from an antique store and am obsessed with them. Like I keep them out on display and don’t let my roommates use them obsessed with them. On that note, these bowls are obviously too good for cereal or soup; I had to come up with something that was vintage-bowl worthy. Another recent obsession of mine has been black beans. They’re my new favorite, hearty fall food; so, I came up with the following rice and beans concoction. First prepare the rice. Take 1/4 cup of olive oil, heat over the stove. Throw in 1 small white onion, 1 clove garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a pinch of pepper. Saute until onions are bendy and add 2 cups, UNCOOKED minute brown rice. Let brown for 3 min. Meanwhile, boil the needed amount of water for 2 cups of minute brown rice. Once boiling, add rice mixture to follow the instructions. As the rice is cooking, heat 1 can of black beans with Jalapenos and peppers. Serve rice and beans with tomatoes, avocado, cilantro and dollop of sour cream. –Cheers!
